Lips are soft, movable and serve as the opening for food intake. They are used for kissing and expressing. The lips change colour according to the enviroment There are thousands of different shapes and colours of lips. Lips give a great kick to a photograph and extra care must be taken. The makeup artist must know when to put extra red lipstick and when to keep it normal, when the lip must be glossy or matte. The final result of the lips must balance with the whole face and the overall result of the whole photograph.
Applying Lip Makeup
First of all to apply lip make up you should outline the contour of the lips. This will greatly help you to picture the size of the lip and see where you can arrange contour for the model. Then use a brush to fill up to whole lip with a desired natural colour similar to the one used for the contour. Apply finally the colour and arrange accordingly, maybe red or a darker colour for the evening or glittery for a good night out. Ideally after finishing ask the model to blot the lips on a tissue for a long lasting effect.
